Starting & Finishing Shifts FAQ's

Q: I have confirmed my shift. What does this mean?

The Confirm button informs Acorn that you are On your Way to the shift. This does not start your shift and you will still need to START when you arrive at work.

Q: I am getting an error message when I try to start my shift, what's wrong?

You may not be within an acceptable range of your place of work. You are unable to start your shift unless you are at your confirmed place of work. If you are on site and still can't start your shift please take a screen shot of the error message and send it to your Acorn consultant who will escalate this.

Don't forget to have your location settings switched on for MySirenum as this will also affect you being able to start your shift.

Q: I've forgotten to clock in / out of my shift, what do I do?

Contact your Acorn consultant as soon as possible so that it doesn't affect your pay. You can set up a reminder within the app so that this doesn't happen again. Please go to the Setting up Notifications page in this guide to find out more.

Q: I can't see my shift in the app but need to clock in, what do I do?

You can still press START and this will manually create a new shift which your Acorn consultant will then check with the client prior to payroll.

Q: I've got an error message when I press START, what does this mean?

If have logged in this is normally due to lack of WIFI or 4G and is an alert. The information from your clock in will be saved until you have signal and will then send the details to Acorns system. Let your consultant know that you clocked in with no signal and then they can check this has been saved before payroll is completed.

Q: What do I do when I take a break? Do I need to clock out and then clock back in when my break is over?

You don't need to do anything as the system automatically deducts unpaid breaks if the client requires it.

Q: I've been asked to work an extra day but there is no shift on the app?

Just press START and this will create a shift which your Acorn consultant will verify with the client before payroll.

Q: I've been asked to work Overtime, how will you know to pay me this correctly?

Each job created in Acorns System has Overtime rules set up in line with whatever the client has confirmed to us so your pay will be automatically calculated to include any overtime rates for additional hours worked.
